CUSTOM FITTING DETAILS YOU SHOULD KNOW
A foot tracing is recommended

Download Tracing Form
Tracing should be done with a standard pencil or thin pen held vertically--trace slowly all the way around the foot. Trace a second line holding the pen or pencil at 45 degrees around the foot to the inside and outside ball (prominent bones) AND inside the arch area. Use gentle pressure to get an even line the same size as the foot. The second, inside line is the contact line underfoot. |

Trace around the foot: Mark the ball (inside and outside), mark inside the arch, mark toe slot for thongs. |

Measure ball of foot across the top from the floor on one side to the floor on the other side. |

Measure instep: Hold tape flat against foot -- the tape will angle back. Measure across the top and into the arch-line under the foot. |
Holding the tape measure flat against the foot-- the ball measure is done between the two ball marks. Measure the instep from the floor at the crook of the foot on the outside (over the high part of the foot) to the to the inside into the arch between the two arch lines you made ...The instep measure is done at a slight angle back to the tape stays flat. |
Please measure heel circumference for any boots.
If there is a toe thong style, please put a mark between your big and second toe.
Mark the ball of the foot -- both inside at the big toe joint and the outside little toe.
Include measurements for the ball and instep top girdth.
For best results in obtaining custom boots (above the ankle in height), it is advised to include a casting of one foot. You can do this yourself by simply putting on a tall, loose-fitting sock and applying tape strips on the bottom, edges, side, top and ankles and leg covering the sock completely with duct tape or gaffers tape overlapped directly on the sock. The tape must lay flat. The cast is then marked around the perimeter at floor level with a magic marker. The design is drawn on the cast, then it is cut off on the outside to remove it from the foot. If you need further assistance with the design and taping proces, please call us at 1-888-NATIVE-2. We will give you information to help you with the process.
Standard Sizes in Listed Styles:
To make sure we fit you properly, please give us your street shoe size, brannock device (shoe store measurement), or preferably a foot tracing. You can call us with the length and width of your tracing and we can get close to your size. Most of our shoes come in narrow and regular widths in whole sizes only.
With Nativearth shoes, women generally go down one size from their street shoe size and men go up one size. You can also measure your foot, tracing length and width, and phone us with the information to ensure a proper fit.
